Your 2026 Guide to Things to Do in Weston MA This Summer

Most summer roundups treat a town like a list of unrelated attractions. Weston in July doesn't work that way. If you live here, the calendar clusters on a Wednesday-Thursday axis, with Land's Sake Farm at 90 Wellesley Street and the Town Green at 11 Town House Road doing most of the heavy lifting. Build your week around those two addresses and the rest of summer arranges itself.

The Wednesday Anchor: Six Weeks on the Town Green

The Weston Recreation Department's Summer Concert Series returns to the Town Green for six consecutive Wednesdays, and this is the spine of the season. Shows start at 7:00 PM at the Town Green at 11 Town House Road, and the June 17 opener is the Ice Cream Social with the Jesse Liam Band, with free ice cream served from 6:30 to 7:30 PM courtesy of the Library, COA, Recreation, and the Arts and Innovation Center. The series runs every Wednesday for six weeks and is weather permitting.

Here is the full 2026 lineup so you can plan the babysitter and the folding chairs now rather than in July:

Date Band Style
June 17 Jesse Liam Band Classics and originals from the 1990s through the 2010s
June 24 Perfect Crime Band Classic rock
July 1 Wiley Brothers Band Music from the '50s to the '80s and beyond
July 8 Riverboat Stompers Dixieland jazz ensemble
July 15 Retro Polatin Three-piece vintage rock and roll
July 22 Black Sea Salsa Combo Original blend of Armenian and Afro-Cuban music

A note on the June 17 opener: the ice cream window closes at 7:30 PM, which is the exact moment the band gets going. If you arrive at 7 with a cone in hand, you land right in the sweet spot. Miss that half hour and you're eating dinner in the car.

The Thursday Counterpart at 90 Wellesley Street

Land's Sake Farm runs Family Farm Nights on Thursdays in July, and pairing them with the Wednesday concert turns two errand nights into a real weekly rhythm. Family Farm Nights on Thursdays in July are on the farm's news slate this season alongside the pick-your-own CSA and the Harvest Dinner and Fundraiser.

The farm itself sits on a piece of land with more history than most people realize. The Case Estates' Forty Acre Field was purchased by the town for municipal purposes from Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum in 1986, and it has been managed for the Conservation Commission by Land's Sake, a nonprofit that holds the town's Community Farming and Education Contract to operate the organic farm, provide produce to the needy, maintain conservation land, and run education programs. That contract is why the farmstand at 90 Wellesley Street is not a boutique retail operation, it is the working front door of a town-scale agricultural program.

What that means when you walk in

The farmstand is open Tuesday through Sunday, with 10 AM to 6 PM hours mid-week and 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, and the shelves hold seasonal produce like carrots, potatoes, onions and garlic along with fresh flowers, coffee, and hot chocolate. The 2026 maple syrup is now available, alongside Land's Sake products like crushed tomatoes, hot sauce, honey, seasoned salt, and salsa verde, plus baguettes from Bread Obsession and Friday specialty bread from Navad Bakers. The maple line is not decorative. Weston's maple syrup program is run at the Bill McElwain Sugar House at the Middle School, where Land's Sake installs roughly 400 taps in 200 trees each winter and teaches middle schoolers the sugaring process. The jar on the shelf came from trees your neighbors and their kids tapped.

For anyone who has never done the CSA, here is the mechanic worth knowing. Land's Sake CSA shareholders collect their vegetables weekly at the Farmstand's CSA area on Tuesdays 2 to 6 PM, Thursdays 2 to 6 PM, or Saturdays 10 AM to 2 PM. The pick-your-own portion of the share is included and can be picked any time during farmstand hours, staff will tell you the week's PYO selection, and there is a reusable Land's Sake cup for PYO flowers. Thursday pickup between 2 and 6 PM slots neatly against a 7 PM Family Farm Night, which is the actual reason the two-day rhythm works.

Bringing small kids

The farm's Open Farmyard program runs Wednesdays 3:30 to 4:30 PM as a free drop-in for young children and caregivers, with stories, the Education Garden, the chicken coop, and the goats, geared for ages 2.5 through 7 but open to all. If you have a preschooler, that gives you a 3:30 farm visit, a walk back to the car, and dinner before the 7 PM Town Green show. One trip, two events, no negotiating.

The Trail Question Everyone Asks Wrong

The typical "best trails in Weston" article lists five loops and ranks them. That is useless if you already live here. The real question is which trail matches which afternoon.

Cat Rock Park. The signature loop. Cat Rock Park Loop is the most popular running trail in Weston on AllTrails with a 4.6-star rating from 1,164 reviews. The park has real vertical for eastern Massachusetts. The main open run at Cat Rock has about 200 feet of vertical with wooded terrain on all sides. That is a hill worth respecting in July heat, but also the reason it doubles as a workout without leaving town.

Weston Reservoir. The dog-walker default. The loop encircles the Weston Reservoir with a small trailhead lot, several branch trails to extend the walk, and it is popular with dog walkers. This is the trail for the 45-minute after-work reset, not the Saturday adventure.

Jericho Town Forest. The one to save for a long morning. The Jericho Town Forest loop covers 550 acres of forest, fields, and wetlands with a mix of small and wide paths and creek crossings, and it closes partially at times for beaver activity. Read that last clause twice. It is the sort of thing you only learn from a trail you have hiked before, and it is worth checking the town's conservation page before you drive over.

Nolte Town Forest. The quiet option. Begin at the Nolte Town Forest Trailhead on the west side of Highland Street, travel west into the forest, and complete a counterclockwise loop with a brief section along Audubon Road, on a network the Town of Weston maintains.

One practical note the guidebooks miss. On weekends, the parking area at the end of Drabbington Way is exclusively for residents of Weston. If you have out-of-town guests and you are meeting them at that lot on a Saturday, you need to be the car with the resident sticker.

The through-line: a Wednesday concert, a Thursday farm night, a Reservoir loop on the shorter evenings, and Jericho or Cat Rock on the longer ones. Six weeks of that pattern and the summer stops feeling scattered.

The Weekly Template, Written Out

If you want the shortest possible version to screenshot, here it is.

  • Tuesday. Farmstand run at 90 Wellesley Street. Grab whatever is peak that week, plus the 2026 maple syrup if you have not already.
  • Wednesday. Open Farmyard at 3:30 PM if you have small kids. Town Green at 7 PM for the concert. Bring chairs.
  • Thursday. CSA pickup between 2 and 6 PM. Family Farm Night after dinner in July.
  • Friday. Navad Bakers specialty bread lands at the farmstand. Time your visit.
  • Saturday. Long-form trail day. Jericho Town Forest if the beavers are cooperating, Cat Rock if you want vertical.
  • Sunday. Weston Reservoir loop with the dog. Shorter farmstand hours end at 4 PM, so any last-minute produce runs happen before then.

There is one closing observation worth making, and it has less to do with any single event than with how they fit together. Land's Sake donates roughly a third of its harvest to local hunger relief organizations, and food insecurity in Massachusetts is at its highest recorded rate. The Wednesday concerts are free. The Open Farmyard is free. The trails are free. What Weston has assembled is a summer that costs nothing to participate in and, in the case of the farm, quietly redirects a third of its output to households that need it. That is the town infrastructure most residents pass without noticing.

If you are thinking about the summer after this one, or about how the neighborhoods of Weston line up against Wellesley, Dover, or Needham for the long term, the team at The Lara and Chelsea Collaborative is happy to walk you through the market in the same detail we bring to a Wednesday concert lineup.
